MY COURTYARD IS NOTHING SPECIAL. NURIA CARRASCO.

The house as a metaphor of personality is the subject of the exhibition which Nuria Carrasco (born Ronda, Malaga, 1962) has created for the Projects Room at the CAC Málaga. Through a fragile silk paper sculpture, ten photographs and a video, the artist juxtaposes the traditional concept of a house, understood as a solid, secure space, with the fragile, ephemeral and changing terrain that lies within us.

Nuria Carrasco's work is characterised by its versatility in the use of materials, as well as the trangressive nature of a body of works which often refer to the unstable nature of the human realm and its constant process of transformation. To do so she draws on a finely-tuned sense of irony, while making use of everyday objects which she manipulates to give them new meanings related to the different ways that we express our emotions.
